Sponsor Opportunities
Girls on the Run of Western Colorado strives to provide quality affordable and accessible after school programs for girls. In order to keep our registration fee low, with scholarships available, our program relies very heavily on financial sponsors. There are a variety of ways that individuals, businesses and organizations can provide financial assistance to our programs.

GOTR Race Information - Girls on the Run of the Grand Valley is involved with two major community 5Ks during the year. Both races raise funds for our programs. The Harbert Lumber Fall 5K, which began in the fall of 2000 is celebrating our 10th year in the fall of 2009. Last year we had nearly 700 runners, and anticipate even more this fall. This race is also one of our largest fundraisers. The spring race, the Girls on the Run 5K, serves as a fundraiser for our programs as well. This race is the largest race in the Grand Valley with more than 1000 runners in May of 2009.
Both races provide the opportunity for girls to reach the program's physical goal – for each girl to complete a 5K. The girls participate in these races free of charge, thanks to our sponsors. Although both races benefit Girls on the Run, we are focusing our sponsorship opportunities on the Harbert Lumber Fall 5K, as we currently have an exclusive sponsorship for the spring race. The Harbert Lumber Fall 5K is an excellent way for businesses to support Girls on the Run, as well as get exposure through publicity on t-shirts, posters, and brochures. We strive to provide sponsors with recognition – as much as possible – on t-shirts, race registration forms, newsletters (more than 1100 sent out), website, etc. While the tangible benefits of sponsoring GOTR events are not overwhelming (publicity, as our numbers and exposure continue to grow; tax deductibility), the smiles on young girls' faces when they finish the race are priceless. As one young girl said: "I actually did something!"
Your sponsorship directly supports the Girls on the Run program and allows us to offer our programs for minimal charge ($40 per season) with full scholarships readily available, so that all girls can participate in this life-changing program.
