Girls on the Run of the Grand Valley is looking for volunteer coaches. If you want to make a positive difference in young girls' lives, here is your opportunity. GOTR is looking for both reliable volunteers to coach or assistant coach Girls on the Run teams. Contact Melanie Steele for more information and to register for training. Click here for the coach packet and forms to begin the process for becoming a volunteer. The more volunteers we have, the more girls we can serve!

Coaches…
- Must be female (high school or older)
- Enjoy working with 8-12 year old girls
- Enjoy helping kids develop important lifelong skills
- Believe in the importance of physical activity (you don't need to be a runner)
- Are a good role model for young girls
- Are responsible, reliable and committed

Coaches/Assistants must commit to the following:
- Talk with program director for initial screening
- Attend a coaches' training
- Coach/assist one or two days per week for at least one 9-week spring OR fall session -- the entire session, OR summer camp
- Be at practice on time and prepared (there are step-by–step lesson plans provided for lead coaches)

All Girls on the Run volunteer coaches are volunteer. You do not need to be a runner to be a GOTR coach or assistant. You simply need to believe in the program and its mission – building strong, healthy and confident girls. Girls on the Run is rapidly growing in the Grand Valley and we need your help to insure that all girls are given the opportunity to participate in this life-changing program. Come join an amazing group of women and be a part of the Girls on the Run team!
